The Troop Training Coordinator must meet BSA membership requirements, be at least 21 years of age, and register with the Boy Scouts of America as an adult leader. The Troop Training Coordinator is selected by the troop committee, with the approval of the charter organization. Complete troop committee Fast Start Training, Youth Protection Training, New Leader Essentials and Troop Committee Challenge. Should also have Weather Hazards, Safe Swim Defense, Safety Afloat, Climb On Safely, Trek Safety, and Risk Management. For new troops and those lacking experienced leaders, an experienced leader from the district training team or another troop may be appointed as Troop Trainer until the new leaders gain experience. |

The Troop Trainer seeks 100% of the troop leadership trained in their position responsibilities. New leaders and adult family members should receive orientation within one week of joining the troop, and leaders should receive position specific training within 30 days. |
