QUALIFICATIONS

The Troop Indoors Activities Coordinator must meet BSA membership requirements, be at least 21 years of age, and register with the Boy Scouts of America as an adult leader.

The Troop Indoors Activities Coordinator is selected by the troop committee, with the approval of the charter organization.

Complete troop committee Fast Start Training, Youth Protection Training, New Leader Essentials and Troop Committee Challenge..

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Help the Scoutmaster plan and arrange for monthly indoor activities.
  • Arrange for property, fire, and tour permits when required.
  • Help identify new indoor activities.
  • Arrange for safe transportation when needed.
  • Plan first aid for emergencies.
  • Help arrange for equipment, as needed.
  • Arrange for Safe Swim Defense implementation for all outings involving swimming.
  • Help inform parents and guardians about opportunities for family indoors activities.
  • Be aware of BSA health and safety requirements and see that they are implemented.
  • Know and carry out BSA indoor program policy related to Boy Scouting.
  • Review all activities to ensure that unit leaders comply with BSA policies in the Guide to Safe Scouting.
  • Secure tour permits for all troop indoors activities.
  • Report to the troop committee at each meeting.
