11 Conservation and Scouting (2 hr) - A brief review of the role of conservation in Scouting, followed by a survey of conservation-related resources and awards available to Cub, Boy Scout, and Venturing leaders. Includes: Project W.I.L.D., including the new 'Science and Civics' program for Venturers and older Scouts, the national Conservation USA program, related merit badge programs and a review of conservation service opportunities in the area. | ||

| 85 Planning Conservation Projects for Older Scouts (2 hr) - Project ideas and activities in 'Science and Civics', a new Project W.I.L.D. program designed to teach high school age youth the concepts behind major conservation issues and to plan a project. Participants will receive a 352-page activity guide and a list of contacts for potential projects. Ideal for project advisors, merit badge counselors and high school teachers. | |||
