Activities CHAIRMAN
Basic Functions
The District Activities Chairman, with the guidance of the District Vice Chairman program recruits, trains and leads those in charge of the various scheduled district activities and events.
Evaluation Criteria
1. Recruit, train and lead those in charge of district activities such as Pushmobile, Pinewood Derby, Cuboree, Mom and Me and all other activities assigned to this Committee.
2. Ensure that all activities are conducted within the guidelines and policies of the Council and that no more than six such district activities are conducted in each calendar year.
3. Guide the development of activity and event budgets and ensures that each one does not sustain a financial loss, but instead shows at least a 10% surplus.
4. Maintain historical records of each activity and event to provide an effective audit trail and to guide future leaders.
5. Assure that each activity or event is effectively promoted on a timely basis.
6. Keep the District Vice Chairman Program and, to the extent required, other district leaders informed of the progress and status of each activity or event.
As with any leadership position, the leader is best judged by the results achieved by those people who are led.
A clear understanding of the roles and evaluation criteria for each of the other district leadership positions as provided in the manual is critical to the leader's success.
